The image depicts an antique kitchen scale weighing a large chain hook with a frayed piece of rope reeved through the eye. Arrayed around the piece are another chain hook and an eyebolt. Most of the pieces are rusty, spattered with stains and the signs of age. The dial of the scale is discolored with foxing and the glass faceplate is yellowed with age. But the hook and eyebolt waiting to be weighed are brand new.
