The image depicts an antique birdcage on a large marble slab. We can't see the edges of the stone expanse but a camellia branch in bloom reaches in from the edge of the photo. Presumably there is soil somewhere, but not here. Within the cage is a large rock; there are seven rows of five holes each bored into the rock and in some of the holes are bullets pounded into the stone.
